Q: Who can audition?

A: All women and girls 12-100

 

Q: I’ve never performed before, but really want to get out there and try something new. Can I audition?

A: Yes! We are a community theater. Our goal is to make professional standard theater accessible to everyone. Anyone with a positive attitude who is prepared to work hard is welcome to audition.

 

Q: If I have a strong performance background, will this production be a good outlet for my talent?

A: Absolutely! We bring a professional standard to everything we do.

 

Q: If it’s a community theater, why do I need to audition? Don’t you take everybody?

A: Although we try to have a lot of parts, so lots of women can get involved, spaces are still limited, and we can’t take everyone. So make sure to show us the best of what you can do!

 

Q: Can I audition for dance and also get an acting/ singing role?

A: Yes! Don’t be afraid to show us everything that you can do. 

 

Q: I’m not interested in performing but would love to get involved, is there anything I can do?

Q: When will rehearsals run?

A: September 2024 -February 2025

 

Q: When and where is the show?

A: Exact dates and locations TBA. But, be prepared to perform multiple nights in multiple cities in February 2025

 

Q: Do I have to pay to be in the show?

A: Yes! Productions on this scale have A LOT of expenses - including your costumes! Leads and Chorus will be expected to pay 280 shekels per month (September -February). Minor characters have a one-time fee of 500 shekels. If you have been cast both in chorus and as a minor character the one-time fee is lowered to 250 shekels (we still have to pay for your costume!) Each cast member must also commit to raising 1 full page of ads for the playbill. 

 

Q: What will the rehearsal schedule be like?

A: Dance rehearsals will take place twice a week in the MORNING.

Most other rehearsals will take place 8-10pm. Rarely on a Thursday or Motzei Shabbos. People with large singing solos or monologues may have rehersals at other hours (scheduled by you). We will do our best - although we can’t guarantee- to arrange the schedule so no one person has rehearsal more than two nights a week. There will be a select few days - for run-throughs and dress rehearsal - where rehearsals may be longer. Show days are full day events and attendance is mandatory.

 

Q: Where will rehearsals take place?

A: Most rehearsals will be in RBS gimmel. All rehearsals will take place in the greater Beit Shemesh area. We welcome auditioners from other cities but please be prepared to travel.

 

Q: Will I need to travel abroad for performances?

A: All live shows will be here in Eretz Yisroel. We do not intend to fly out of the country but be prepared to go to other cities! 

 

Q: When will I find out if I got a part?

A: Be patient. Not hearing back right away doesn’t mean you didn’t get a part. We will contact you as soon as a decision has been made.
